Introducing Stickbug, an exciting new Korean Street food QSR concept brought to you by the cofounder of Esquires Coffee* (100+ shops, globally) and the founder of Pokerrito, Vancouver's leading Poke chain.
Stickbug is a rich and bold brand that has been built on experience and maturity, with an entrenched understanding of the vast opportunities within England and the United Kingdom. This knowledge provides the ability to leverage our growth with vigorous and detailed planning.
What is 'Stickbug'?
‘Stickbug’ is a Korean colloquial term for someone who prefers street-style food, which is typically served on ‘sticks’. We felt this was an excellent representation of the concept given our mission to introduce UK consumers to the complex, unapologetically spicy, nutritious, and delicious tastes of Korea.
The global popularity of Authentic Asian Cuisine continues to exhibit unprecedented demand.
This growth is aligned to several consumer trends, including a focus on enhanced healthy menus, engagement with plant-based diets, speed of service, and social media, all in partnership with the convenience of online ordering and home delivery.
Over the past few years there has been a global explosion of ethnic restaurants
Both dine in and quick service, offering an expanse of menu choices, seducing the most pedant diner. This evolution has been in response to not only a change in urban lifestyle and a shift in consumer demand of healthier food options, but also a distinct change in people’s economic behaviour.
The UK is not isolated from these influences, and quick service restaurants are predicting substantial growth over the next decade. Consumers are welcoming casual dining brands like Stickbug that provide an immersive experience, innovative offering and exhibit a seamless customer experience.
Stickbug is looking to onboard single or multi-unit operators, starting with major UK cities and provincial towns as the demand for Korean food continues to gain momentum.
We have 17 successful outlets in Vancouver, operating under the Pokerrito brand, none of which have failed.
