Wondering how to become a dog trainer?

Bark Busters Team

A Bark Busters Home Dog Training franchise provides a unique opportunity to run your own local business, whilst providing convenient one-to-one training in the dog owner's home. Our proven training system allows dog owners to achieve fast and lasting results for their dog's behaviour problems.

Training over ! Million Dogs

Bark Busters was founded in 1989 by renowned behaviour therapists Sylvia and Danny Wilson in Wollongong, Australia. Their aim was to save as many dogs as possible from being surrendered to shelters or euthanized because of their seemingly incurable behaviour problems. From its humble beginnings, Bark busters has grown to be the World's largest home dog training company with over 300 franchisees in 7 countries. Our Bark Busters team has helped over 1 MILLION dogs worldwide, to overcome their behaviour problems and to live better lives.

Bark Busters launched in the United Kingdom in 1999, and today we are one of the leading dog training and behaviour companies in the country.

Bark BustersMaking a difference to dogs' lives

There are so many dogs out there living with behaviour problems, causing stress, anxiety, and sometimes physical illness. As a Bark Busters dog trainer and behaviour therapist you will lean to solve these problems, in hours rather than months, and leave the dogs visibly happier and more content from the very first lesson. You will be able to see the dog owner's frustration disappear and watch a family fall back in love with their dog. There is no better feeling than seeing this happen and knowing you are the one responsible.

Our franchise owners come from a variety of backgrounds, but what they all have in common is a passion for helping dogs, and a desire to help their owners who love them. They want a greater sense of fulfilment in what they do and a good work-life balance too. Bark Busters provides this unique opportunity. We give people the chance to do what they love whilst running their own business. When you do what you love, you know you will be successful. Are you ready to change?

Our training and support is your competitive advantage

Dog Training

Our unique dog training techniques are a huge advantage. The intensive and customised way in which we teach you is also a huge advantage for you.

Your career in dog training begins with a 4-week intensive training programme with our head of training. This is not correspondence or internet-based self-learning. This is hands-on, one-to-one, face-to-=face intensive education. Your success and Bark Busters’ reputation depends on the quality of your training, so we place great importance in ensuring your skills meet our high standards.

Throughout your training you will study dog behaviour theory, develop practical dog handling skills, observe training lessons, participate in training lessons, and finally conduct complete lessons from start to finish, with our guidance, in the dog owners' homes.

You will also practice the selling and presentation skills necessary to run a profitable business. We will go over the business administration systems with you. We have developed a successful business model for you to follow so you don’t have to learn the hard way. A quick look at the vast number of 5-star Trustpilot reviews is evidence of how well trained our franchise owners are!

The market

It has never been a better time to become a Bark Busters dog trainer and behaviour therapist. The market is strong, continues to grow and shows no sign of slowing. With an estimated 12 million dogs and an £8 billion spend on our pets each year in the United Kingdom, the market has never been stronger. In the last 12 months alone, the dog population in the United Kingdom has grown by an estimated 1 million dogs. Much of this population growth can be attributed to the pandemic but the United Kingdom is the dog-loving capital of the world and its dog numbers increase year on year.World Leaders
